Privacy
What this site collects, what it publishes, and who to ask.
The corpus is built from public sources
Papers are fetched from open-access sources such as PubMed, Europe PMC and publisher-deposited files. The .science files published here carry the identifier, the citation and the text of each paper, together with the extraction taken from that text.
Reading the corpus
Every page and .science file in the published corpus is open to anyone. No account is needed to read it, and reading is not profiled, tracked for advertising, or sold to anyone.
The workspace
Signing in opens the workspace, where a signed-in researcher can draft a .science file, attach evidence and submit it for review. We hold the account details needed to run that: the address you sign in with, and the .science files and evidence you create. We do not use them for marketing.
Cookies
The public pages set no tracking cookies. Signing in sets the session cookie needed to keep you signed in, and nothing else.
Retention
Published .science files and the source text behind them are kept, because a published .science file is evidence and removing it would break the references other files carry. Draft .science files in the workspace are kept until they are published or withdrawn.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, and ask for it to be deleted where it is not part of a published .science file. Requests about published .science files are handled as corrections to the file, so the change stays visible.
Contact
Privacy requests go to the address on the contact page. We aim to reply within one business day during UK business hours.
