Terms
What this site is, and what it asks of you.
What this is
Corpus Engine is a public record of scientific claims, the methods behind them and the routes to their data. It is a research instrument. Nothing on it is medical advice, and nothing on it is a statement that a paper is correct.
What a .science file says
A .science file reports what the paper says, with the quotation and the section it came from, and it records how far it has been read, checked and run. Where the work is missing, the file says so rather than leaving it out. Read the file, not the summary of the file.
Reuse
The .sci documents, the API and the section index are published for reuse. The papers behind them stay under the licences their publishers gave them, and each .science file carries the source locator so you can check the terms yourself. A published .science file does not grant rights in the underlying paper.
What you may contribute
You may open a .science file, correct it, add a method, attach evidence, or run an analysis and publish the result against it. Contributions keep their author, their source and their history, and the .science file they were made from stays reachable.
Availability
The corpus grows, and pages move as the format changes. .science files are addressable by a permanent identifier, and every published version keeps its own checksum, so a .science file you cited stays readable and verifiable.
Liability
The corpus is provided as it is. A published .science file can be incomplete, and an extraction can be wrong. Check a .science file against the paper before you rely on it, and tell us when you find one that is wrong.
